Moon's Kitchen - what is it and why are spices important?

What is Moon’s Kitchen?

The Moon’s Kitchen is a concept of nutrition and rituals that follows the energy cycles of the Moon, but also the astrological characteristics of your personal Moon in your birth chart (ie, which sign and house the Moon is in).

The goal is to support your emotional and energetic state in accordance with your internal rhythms and lunar influences through proper food, teas or squeezed juices, spices and rituals.

The Moon’s Kitchen contains the Moon Plate - creating a personalized Astro Menu and the Moon Spoon - a tea guide that goes with the Astro Menu.

Why are spices important in the Moon’s Kitchen?

  • Spices are not just about taste. They also have energetic, healing and vibrational power.
  • Each spice carries its own "astrological stamp" — a certain energy and effect on the body and mind.
  • The right spices can balance your emotional state, stimulate circulation, calm the nervous system or give strength.
  • They are used as a small, powerful support to your daily energies and needs, especially according to the position of the Moon.

Examples of how spices work in the Moon’s Kitchen:

  • Ginger is a "fiery" spice that awakens energy and clarity, great for the Moon in Aries.
  • Cinnamon brings warmth, supports emotional stability and gives a sense of comfort, useful for Moon Cancer.
  • Cardamom improves digestion and refreshes the mind, great for the Moon in Capricorn.
  • Anise is an “airy” spice that aids digestion and brings lightness of mind, so it is good for the Moon in Aquarius.

Why is it important?

Connecting with spices and their properties helps you nourish your body and mind according to your emotional and energetic needs. It gives you extra control over your mood, concentration and recovery. It means that food and spices are not only a physical need, but also support for your spiritual and emotional balance.

More than 15 years ago I read a book about spices - "The Mistress of Spices" by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Hence the first encounter with spices. And now love. Love for spices.

💬 Tell me in the comments what kind of spices you like? Spicy? Mild? And have you perhaps also read this book?
